This is a 2007 Made in Mexico Stratocaster that I’ve made to replicate the Stratocaster used by Kurt Cobain in the 90’s dubbed the “Vandalism Strat”.
This was not an insane project at all, the following is all modifications made to the guitar:
- Replaced the original MIM Fender Maple Fretboard Neck with an identical MIM Fender Rosewood Fretboard Neck.
- Upgraded 10-42 Gauge Strings to 10-52 Gauge Strings.
- Replaced White Pickguard with Black Pickguard.
- Removed Tremelo Cover
- Replaced Stock Fender Bridge Pickup to a Seymour Duncan 59 Neck Pickup placed into the Bridge Position.
- Added Vandalism Sticker
- Replaced Stock White Tone and Volume Knobs to Black Volume and Tone Knobs, but removed the Pickup Selector Switch Tip and the Bridge Pickup Tone Knob.
Everything listed above was all done to specifically emulate the specs and looks of the original “Vandalism Strat” used by Kurt Cobain in the 90’s. The only fault of this guitar is the slight chip in paint shown in the last photo. Thank you all for reading and hope to sell this beautiful guitar to one of y’all soon!
