Up for sale is a clean and fabulous sounding 1981 Gibson Howard Roberts in its original Wine Red finish. I have always loved this model and truly believe it is one of the most unique Gibson instruments of the era. Features include a hollow-body design with oval sound-hole, single humbucker pickup, Howard Roberts branded tailpiece and intricate headstock design. This instrument is stamped factory second indicating there was some sort of finish flaw when it left the factory, probably the minute scratch near the headstock (shown in photo). The guitar is in exceptional condition. It is effortless to play and the tone is amazing, both acoustically and electrically. It features the Gibson standard 25 1/2" scale length, one volume knob and two tone knobs. Included is the original hard case. I replaced the original low and flat frets with very nice jumbo frets. The work was done by an excellent Luthier, Brad Nickerson. The exterior of the case has some damage as pictured. Would prefer to sell locally so that buyer can actually see and play before purchasing.
