This vintage Neumann U87 was made in the late 60s. The electronics and capsule are in mint condition. It’s really rare to find such thing. The electronics were recently serviced, with electrolytic capacitors being replaced. The capsule is original, with the fiberboard rings and the heavy metal ring around it. These were available in the very early U87 production, as well as in the U67s. The capsule is in perfect shape and has the original skin. The other components, such as capsule assembly and switches, are perfect, with no scratches or any blemishes.
The microphone originally featured a 7 pin bottom connector and at some point it was replaced by a conventional 3 pin XLR. The current connector carries a serial number of a different U87, from late 80s. I’ve contacted Neumann to check if they can provide a manufacturing date and original serial number based on the serial number of the capsule assembly.

The body has some light oxidation, which is pretty normal for a nearly 60 years old microphone. This U87 works perfectly fine and sounds like a dream! Its very clean and has been checked and tested throughout all functions and variations. All switches work fine and are firm.

The original case and a vintage Neumann Z48 shock mount are included.
