For sale is a really cool 1977 Fender Telecaster Custom. It is player grade, but it’s a joy to play. Most Telecasters from this era are heavy. This one is surprisingly light and resonant (7 lbs 8 oz).
The original Wide Range pickup in the neck sounds incredible. The original bridge pickup had some ground issues, so a Lollar J Street pickup was installed along with 250K pots and an orange drop cap in the bridge. It’s a perfect pairing with the original neck pickup. It sounds exactly how a Tele Custom should. The original bridge pickup and components are in the case.
I believe the guitar was originally finished in black or sunburst, and at some point someone refinished it in natural. It is not a professional job. There are dings, scratches, and playwear. The original case is in rough shape.
