<p>The 2008 Fender American Standard Stratocaster was a landmark update to Fender's flagship line, bringing a thinner undercoat finish for better resonance, a redesigned 2-point tremolo with vintage-style bent steel saddles, and a high-quality molded SKB hardshell case</p>
<p><br />Body: Solid, contoured Alder (or Ash on select finishes.)<br />Neck: Maple with a modern "C" shape, hand-rolled fretboard edges, and a skunk stripe. It features a gloss finish on the fretboard front and a satin finish on the back for a smooth, fast feel.<br />Fretboard: Maple or Rosewood with 22 medium-jumbo frets.<br />Pickups: Standard Alnico V single-coils (later factory-equipped with Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups).<br />Electronics: 5-way pickup selector, Master Volume, Tone 1 (Neck pickup), and Tone 2 (Middle/Bridge pickups with a "No-Load" tone pot that bypasses the tone circuit at 10 for maximum output).Hardware: Staggered tuning machines (which eliminate the need for string trees) and a 2-point synchronized tremolo.</p>
