Late 1940s Frank Holton Collegiate cornet with rare Holton 70A cornet mouthpiece and original case. Instrument and mouthpiece cleaned, lubed, and sterilized. Horn has gorgeous finish: lacquered brass which has aged to a nice patina. A few small dents along the leadpipe and bell tube; one moderate dent in leadpipe and bell rim has been damaged and repaired at some point. (See photos for details). No large dents. No red rot; no re-solders. The slides and caps all move easily. The valves play smoothly and rebound well. The instrument plays well and seems to have good compression. Mouthpiece is in excellent condition with silverplate mostly intact and no flaws. The case is worn but functional with working locks. Quality made in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. SHIPPING IS FREE!!!
