Sunburst, clay dot, tortoise pickguard with mint green under latyer. Played with respect as no signs of abuse but normal dings, natural playing wear on the back of the neck. There is wear on the back around the upper strap button. Nice color front and back, no buckle wear, a rich dark Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, looks like the original frets that are in good shape. The neck dates Jan. ’64, body dates May ’64, pots date to the 20th week of ’64 but one pot is replaced and the original is in the case. It weighs in at 9.6 pounds, which is pretty good in bass world.
It is richly resonant with a killer sustain and the satin neck fust falls into your hand and says hello. A nice honest pre-CBS Jazz Bass. Comes with the original hard case and covers. Consigned.
