Up for sale, a 2010 Martin D-28 Marquis in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Inspired by Martin’s finest Pre-War dreadnoughts, this D-28 is a premium Marquis variant, boasting top-tier tonewoods and cosmetic appointments, with features including an Adirondack spruce top with forward-shifted X-bracing, a modified V neck, Waverly tuning machines, herringbone purfling, and grained ivoroid binding.
Exceptionally even-tempered and balanced in the way that only the best Martins can be, this D-28 Marquis is crisp, clear and immediate in its response. There’s tons of projection on tap, and the low end is bold and defined with a high volume ceiling, yielding just a touch of natural compression when digging in with a flatpick. Weighing 4lbs 14oz, this D-28 Marquis benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The top has Martin’s Aging Toner, exhibiting a couple areas of subtle vertical checking beneath the pickguard and adjacent to the soundhole on top, with cosmetic wear limited to a few tiny nicks on the body. The finish on the neck profile has a few shallow marks that are practically imperceptible to the palm.
The original black tolex hardshell case and hangtags are included.
