Up for sale, a 1968 Vox Tone Bender model V828 fuzz in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced for Vox's USA subsidiary Thomas Organ, these acclaimed pedals were produced in Italy by JEN, utilizing a pair of germanium transistors at the pedal's heart (SFT363 and SFT337). From splatty buzzsaw crackle to more robust and churning fuzz tones, the Tone Bender is one of the most imitated and sought after vintage fuzz pedals, and the sound of countless acts from the British Invasion and beyond.
This particular Tone Bender is in fantastic shape, with a clean silver faceplate and black crinkle finish. The stock chicken head knobs are present as well, and the back panel has four original rubber feet as well as the two screws that hold the stock battery clip. Circuit-wise, the pedal is completely stock, while the battery clip is a modern replacement.
