Up for sale, a 1980 B.C. Rich USA Nighthawk in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. An exceedingly rare B.C. Rich that’s firmly in the “go find another” camp, this Nighthawk featured a body and neck crafted by Charvel as part of the “Son of a Rich” series of instruments. Essentially a bolt-on neck version of the Eagle, this Nighthawk guitar features premium components including DiMarzio Super Distortion humbuckers and Grover Super Rotomatic tuning machines.
The mahogany body offers great natural midrange warmth and growl, qualities faithfully captured by the stock pair of DiMarzio Super Distortion humbuckers. DiMarzio’s ever-popular hot-rodded humbucker revolutionized the guitar world when it was introduced in the ‘70s, designed to push a tube amp into creamy overdrive with boosted mids, wide lows, and fat highs. Chords are chunky, and melodic lines have a searing, white-hot singing quality that sits great in a mix. Simply put, there’s a reason this pickup has been favored by artists as varied as Ace Frehley, Phil Collen, and Kurt Cobain. This Nighthawk weighs 8lbs 15oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Tobacco Sunburst has just a couple touched-up dings on the top edge of the input jack, with wear otherwise limited to pick scuffing on top and some minor dings and finish scratches on the body, largely on the back and perimeter. The neck profile’s smooth gloss has a few shallow marks worn smooth through play.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
