Tokai is widely considered to be one of the most vintage-accurate of the “lawsuit” Japanese brands, faithfully capturing all the hallmarks of their American counterparts. The Hard Puncher is Tokai’s take on the iconic Fender P Bass platform, faithfully capturing the sound and feel of a genuine example.

Tonewoods include a basswood body and maple neck capped with a rosewood fretboard, ensuring a smooth, balanced acoustic profile. The Hard Puncher has a clear note attack, midrange growl, and low end that really thumps, described by Tokai as “tight, sharp, and heavy.” This Hard Puncher PB40 weighs 8lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
