While the Lion '68 focuses on aggressive British plexi crunch, the Woodrow '55 pivots entirely to the organic, touch-sensitive growl of a mid-1950s American Tweed Deluxe (5E3 circuit) combo amplifier.

Powered by a high-performance dual-engine processor, it is built to deliver raw, historical tube saturation, sweet touch-responsive cleans, and gritty distortion directly to a PA system, recording interface, or FRFR cabinet.

The Tweed Character & Sonic Behavior

The vintage 5E3 Tweed Deluxe circuit is legendary for its raw simplicity and highly interactive controls, which UA has meticulously emulated:

• Interactive Volume Controls: Just like the real '55 amplifier, the Volume Instrument and Volume Mic controls interact dynamically with one another. Even if you aren't plugged into the Mic channel, turning up its volume knob changes the mid-range texture, compression, and clean headroom of the entire virtual circuit.
• Touch-Sensitive Sag: The Woodrow excels at replicating the "tube sag" characteristic of vintage tube rectifiers. When you dig in hard with your pick, the pedal compresses and "blooms" naturally, cleaning up smoothly when you back off your volume knob or play with a lighter touch.

Three Iconic Boost Modes

To push the virtual preamp tubes into heavy, harmonically rich overdrive, the Woodrow features a built-in boost toggle switch with three distinct classic flavors:

• Stock: A clean, uncolored preamp boost that pushes the natural 5E3 circuit harder.
• KP-3K: Models the transparent, high-fidelity preamp circuit of the iconic Korg SDD-3000 rack unit digital delay (frequently used by The Edge of U2 to drive vintage vox and tweed rigs).
• EP-III: Emulates the warm, saturated solid-state preamp stage of a vintage Maestro EP-3 Tape Echo, introducing a fat, tape-like harmonic thickness to your signal.
