The classic Boss DS-1 distortion pedal, in the sought-after "long dash" early version. Amazing range of sounds in one vintage pedal!

This has the black screw, indicating it was made in Japan after the silver screw units but still with the desirable Toshiba chip. (I opened it up and looked at the chip to make sure; could post a picture if you want to see it.) So this is, I believe, a pretty rare transitional version of this pedal, but still with all the desirable features of the original.

Serial number indicates August 1981 manufacture, according to the internet.

This unit is in excellent working condition, no noise in the pots. Level, tone, distortion, LED all work perfectly. I cleaned it up some but left some 1980s grime on it. The plastic lining of the slot for the screw is not 100% there (see photos), but this does not affect action or function at all.

Works great with a 9V battery, not included.

Prefer shipping to CONUS but will consider shipping outside the US if buyer pays actual cost, to be determined.

The YT video link shows no noise in pots. Due to compression, the audio doesn't quite do justice to the tonal range of the settings, but you get the idea.
