Selling a beautiful pair of 13" Istanbul Agop Mel Lewis 1982 hi-hats in excellent condition.
Weights are extremely musical and on the lighter side: 721g (top) / 781g (bottom), giving these hats a fast, responsive feel with a very open, airy character.
These deliver the classic Mel Lewis voice — warm, dark, and complex, with a buttery stick response and a crisp, articulate “chick.” They stay controlled at low volumes but open up beautifully when played dynamically, making them ideal for jazz, acoustic work, trio settings, studio recording, indie, and worship contexts.
The lighter pairing gives them a particularly quick response and soft, shimmering wash without getting harsh or heavy under the stick.
Condition is excellent with no cracks, keyholing, or structural issues. These have not been played much at all as you tell by the pictures with just some fingerpints on the back side of each cymbal. Perfect condition...like new.
