Up for sale, a 1999 Fender American Vintage ‘62 Stratocaster in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. This discontinued USA-made Stratocaster model features a nitro lacquer three-tone Sunburst finish with very soulful natural playwear on an alder body, maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard, delivering a bold, detailed natural acoustic quality that translates well through the 57/62 black bobbin pickup set.
Featuring staggered, beveled alnico pole pieces, black fiber bobbins, and cloth-covered leads, Fender’s 57/62 pickups offer a potent upper midrange detail and bounce in the bridge position, a woody, sweet neck pickup sound and a nice hollow cut at the halfway “in-between” positions on the three-way switch. This American Vintage ‘62 Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 4oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss three-tone Sunburst nitro lacquer finish exhibits extensive playwear that would put a well-executed relic to shame, including various shallow chips and dings around the body perimeter, pick scuffing and buckle rash through the finish on the top and back, respectively, and various lesser marks consistent with decades of usage. The lacquer on the neck profile and headstock is deeply ambered, smooth and inviting with palm wear on the shoulders.
The original Fender-branded G&G Deluxe tweed hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags and case candy.
