Up for sale is a pair of Drop (formerly Massdrop) x Sennheiser HD 6XX open-back reference headphones, purchased directly from Massdrop in October 2017.

The Sound: Sonically, these are identical to the legendary Sennheiser HD 650. They utilize the exact same 300-ohm drivers and internal acoustic design, delivering the famous, organic midrange and smooth, fatigue-free high end that mix engineers and audiophiles have trusted for decades.

The HD 6XX Layout: While they sound exactly like the HD 650, the HD 6XX variant features a few practical workflow differences:

• Midnight Blue Finish: A clean, matte deep-blue aesthetic instead of the glossy silver-gray paint of the original 650s.
• Desktop-Friendly Cable: Ships with a shorter, more manageable 6-foot cable terminated in a standard 1/8" (3.5mm) jack, making it much cleaner to plug straight into a modern Mac, laptop, or compact desktop interface without a massive 10-foot cable cluttering your workspace.

Condition: These are in good, well-cared-for shape. The structural construction is solid, and the velour ear pads and headband padding still have plenty of life and firmness left in them. Sound is perfectly balanced across both channels. Includes the original stock cable and 1/8" to 1/4" adapter.
