The Error Instruments Broken Tape Simulator v2 is a 6HP Eurorack effects module designed to emulate the unstable, warbly, and glitchy sounds of a damaged tape recorder. • Bit-Rate and Pitch Manipulation: Deliberately compresses the audio signal's bit rate and alters the pitch.
• Feedback Control: Lets you create lo-fi feedback that behaves similarly to a busted tape machine.
• Light-Sensitive Sensor: Features an integrated optical sensor that interacts with room light. The small knob controls the distortion/feedback, and the big knob acts as a master offset.

Typical Usage
To get the most out of the module, it functions beautifully on drum patches, basslines, and oscillators. By cranking the main knob to the right, you get a mostly clean sound; rolling it to the left drastically drops the bit rate and shifts the pitch. Fast twists of the knobs and hand movements over the sensor yield happy accidents and complex, rhythmic glitches.
