For sale is a 2017 Fender Limited Edition George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster in outstanding collector condition. Fender produced only 1,000 of these guitars worldwide in 2017, making this a highly collectible Artist Signature Series model tied directly to one of the most iconic guitars in Beatles history.

I purchased this guitar new in 2017 from Remix, an authorized Fender dealer, shortly after I returned from NAMM. Since purchase, it has remained carefully stored in its original hardshell case and has never been plugged in or played. As incredible as that sounds, this guitar has essentially lived as a preserved collector piece from day one. The original plastic covering is still on the pickguard and neck pickup.

Because Reverb’s used-condition scale currently tops out at Excellent, I am listing it as Excellent. That said, this is about as close to new/open-box collector condition as a 2017 example can reasonably be.

This guitar comes complete with its original Fender hardshell case, “ashtray” bridge cover, all case candy, original paperwork, hang tags, case keys, and accessories.

Historical Significance

The original rosewood Telecaster was built specifically for George Harrison by Fender in 1968, with the project led by designer Roger Rossmeisl and craftsman Philip Kubicki. Harrison used the guitar during the Let It Be era and famously played it during The Beatles’ final live performance on the Apple rooftop in January 1969.
