Beautiful cello I got in guitar trade from its original owner, who had it since high school and kept it in outstanding condition. Only a few minor cosmetic blemishes, tiny dings and scratches but otherwise beautiful. He played it a bit for me and it’s in my opinion a magnificent sounding instrument, which he attributed to solid wood construction. This was his upgrade from more beginner/student model he’d had through junior high. He told me he’d lost interest after going to college, still kept it in great shape and occasionally played it at his parent’s home but hadn't really done much with it over the last 20 years other than occasional strumming, discovered Rock & roll and guitar instead. I thought this would be a novelty try for me but honestly it’s so foreign my time would be better invested in guitar or mandolin. Priced according to my research at the mid-low end of its private party value. If I consigned it to a store it would fetch 30-40% more but I’d be paying that out in consignment fees as I understand it. I live in Baton Rouge and am happy to bring this cello to a store or professional you designate at my own convenience if you’d like to have someone here take a look at it or play it. And while I handle my own packing for guitars, this instrument deserves a professional packing job, so Baton Rouge Packaging and Shipping LLC has agreed to pack it in a custom-made double wall box sized to the case with room for extra bubble wrap for extra protection for $75, which seems a worthwhile investment and you’ll be able to keep the box and materials for future use. The cello has a nice padded gig bag and includes one bow in nice shape, the rubber stand pad, and a block of resin that’s at least 20 years old but according to the previous owner still ok.

I've put what I think are a decent assortment of photos but I'm happy to answer any questions AND send you as many photos as you want.

Shipping costs are on the rise, and my shipping price covers the professional packaging job of $75, AND Reverb's insurance which will run around $70 on this cello.  You’re welcome to have someone pick it up locally or pick it up yourself, or if you have different suggestions for shipping I’m open to hearing them, but Reverb-safe insurance will be mandatory.

Please note that I also check shipping prices, fully insured, through Shipnerd and reserve the right to ship through them if Reverb rates seem inordinately high.  They invariably partner with UPS just like reverb, and tracking is still provided through reverb, but also through Shipnerd and the carrier.

Also, I list all my for sale items across multiple platforms (Facebook Marketplace, gear page, a few bulletin boards, and by word of mouth among my guitar buddies and at jams). Obviously, my Louisiana peeps have an advantage buying locally, but Reverb is an amazing marketplace and I price my items competitively. I entertain reasonable offers and try as hard as I can to be a straight shooter and describe items and answer questions accurately and honestly. If you're watching this guitar and it suddenly vanishes, I may have temporarily deleted the listing if I've agreed to show the guitar to someone locally in the immediate future. Usually someone willing to drive to Baton Rouge to see gear is legitimately prepared to buy but if such a deal fall through I’ll reactivate the listing and it should come up again in your follow list.

Thanks for looking,

And please read my feedback, I try hard to be fair and honest in my descriptions, pricing and dealinigs.
