Here is a rare early-model 1977 Roland RE-201 Space Echo, made in Japan and fully serviced.

This is the real tape echo machine that countless pedals and plugins have tried to capture over the years. The repeats have that warm, slightly unstable movement that only a real tape loop can create, and the built-in spring reverb gives the sound a beautiful vintage depth.

The RE-201 is known for its multi-head tape delay, 12-mode selector, separate Echo and Reverb levels, Repeat Rate, Intensity, and Bass/Treble tone controls. It can cover everything from warm slapback echo to deep dub-style repeats, ambient textures, and expressive self-oscillation.

This unit has been carefully serviced. The capacitors have been replaced, the motor has been adjusted, and the tape heads have been cleaned and demagnetized. The unit has also been cleaned throughout, inside and out.

The tape echo, spring reverb, mode selector, controls, and output have all been tested and are working properly. It sounds warm, musical, and full of character, just as a vintage Space Echo should.
