An early edition of the Boomerang. In great shape and sports early 1969 date codes on the pot and inductor, but didn't work when I got it. This had been in storage for a long time and as such the three polarized caps were either badly faded (the tone caps) or totally dead (the power filtering cap), and the pot had developed noise in the sweep (a very common issue with these). I replaced the caps, including a pair of high-end MOD 1uf tone caps, and I installed a Gagan pot - Joe Gagan is the wah pedal guru and he developed these specifically for use in Boomerangs which use a different value and taper than Crybaby's, and also function in the opposite direction. I kept in the original battery holder, which was designed to hold a 226-style 9v battery, which was about the size and orientation of a AA battery, but which is also obsolete. With a little adaptation this works great holding a 9v battery. Pedal is in excellent condition and sounds wonderful. The Boomer 2 has its own sound with a super warm wah tone, but is not dark at all. The volume is great for swells. It does not turn the volume all the way off (and was not designed to), and volume is full at toe down. Finally, this still has the rare vinyl carry bag and even more rare - the zipper still works (treat it gently and it will work forever).
