Here is a 2015 American Professional neck for a stratocaster, it's all maple with the rosewood back route.

It has been the neck of my partscaster for 6 years and I've never had any issues. There are a few dings on the back of the neck (10th and 13th fret, pictured) and some string marks on the fretboard (pictured, practically invisible to see when strung). The truss rod hole has some marks as I believe someone tried using an incorrect Allen key before I bought it. I had my local shop use a gripper and it worked fine and they assured me there was no damage to the neck from this just the need for a gripper key
