Talk about an amazing example of a true Vintage Gibson!

This a very clean and all original example of a 1961 Gibson SG Special with all the early appointments,

Including the offset bridge studs and non-Compensated Bridge.

It also has the early neck joint and body contour where the neck and body meet.

This guitar is free from any breaks or repairs.

The finish on this guitar is in great shape for it being 65 years old with just a few little chips and dings. The checking is also a very minimal amount for its age on this Cherry finished guitar. Speaking of the Cherry finish, it is still very red! With almost no fading at all.

There is some very light buckle rash on the back and a small cluster of dings probably from a strap or buckle on the upper front horn on the back of the guitar (pictured).

The pickups read at 7.59k on the Bridge pickup and 7.83K on the neck.

The pickups and electronics are all original to the guitar and work flawlessly.

The neck is a nice thin profile and has a very comfortable full size nut width (1 11/16th") so

The guitar is a treat to play. There are a few small indents on the back of the neck that we tried picturing. It looks like the guitar had the binding rolled to create a rounding feeling. It is all original and so are the frets. You can still see remnants of the fret

Nibs and the frets are in great shape. The guitar has low action and is very comfortable to play.

The tuners are also original and work fine.

These don’t come up often and especially not in original condition like this.
