1987 MIJ Charvel by Jackson Model 1A Gloss Black Superstrat (SSS)

There’s something truly special about the Model 1A from Charvel. While it’s technically considered an entry-level piece in the lineup, it’s honestly one of the best guitars in the entire Model Series. The care and precision that went into making these is something to be in awe of. Head-to-head, it’s easily on par with anything Japan or the USA was making at the time, and it’s one of the few to combine true Strat specs with the iconic pointy headstock.

This is a great example with a very nicely broken-in neck and only minor cosmetic wear on the body. There’s some honest fret wear but it’s still a blast to play with very low action and good note clarity all around. The original USA Jackson J-100 single coils have a ton of bite while still sounding amazing clean. The neck pickup has been replaced with a DiMarzio YJM, which makes total sense!

The only thing negative to be said is that the nut slots on the high strings are a bit tight and the strings catch on occasion—I’d recommend widening them slightly or using 9 gauge strings.
