I’ve been through a lot of fuzz pedals, zonk machines in particular, and this is an exceptional example. You may be wondering, why would this one be up for sale? Well, this is one of three I have saved over the years and for good reason. I have a smaller Acid Fuzz that is tuned to the DBII spec which does something unique outside of the classic or standard tuning. The other Zonk Machine I’m keeping is a 1:1 replica I had custom made. TBH, the Charlie sounds just as good if not better and it has a convenient battery door for easy battery swaps, which is huge for a classic fuzz. Dead silent idle and perfect gating for those pinched notes or bends. Top mounted jacks, and the orange led is tastefully executed and the hand wired guts are a thing of beauty IMO.
Stop hunting for the perfect Zonk Machine, because this is the one. Look at the transistors used below.
