Stella was truly America’s “first guitar”—its sturdy construction, loud projection, inexpensive price and mail order availability appealed to many in rural settings or towns.
In 1938, Harmony bought the Stella brand from the original Oscar Schmidt Company; it continued to make Stellas until 1974.
The H912 Stella production dates are 1964 to 1968.
All birch with red sunburst, “ebonized” maple fretboard, metal tailpiece, non-original black pick guard. Serial number 2293H912
A few scratches and scuffs … but pretty pristine.
The action: According to one expert, 1/4” at the twelfth fret is too high and would need a neck reset. Not sure many 12-string players get busy at the twelfth fret … but there you have it. Action: Under 1/8” at first fret; just over 1/8” at seventh fret; just under 1/4” at twelfth fret.
Comes with period chipboard case.
Ships UPS Ground to Continental USA only.
