Up for sale is a 2006 Gibson Custom Shop Historic ’68 Les Paul Custom Reissue in Ebony, complete with its original Gibson Custom Shop hard-shell case.

This is a very cool Historic Collection Black Beauty that captures the look, feel, and tone of the original 1968 Les Paul Custom extremely well. Featuring a maple top over a mahogany body, long neck tenon construction, ebony fingerboard, gold hardware, and a chunky ’50s-style neck profile, this guitar delivers everything players love about the best Custom Shop Les Paul Customs.

Loaded with a pair of Gibson ’57 Classic humbuckers, it has the warm, rich, articulate tone and sustain that make these Historic Black Beauties so desirable.

The original Gibson Custom Shop hard-shell case is included. Unfortunately, the certificate of authenticity and original paperwork are not included.

Condition

Very Good – 7.5/10

• Light surface scratches throughout
• Scattered dings from normal use
• Wear visible on the back of the body
• Tarnish to the gold hardware consistent with age and use
• Honest cosmetic wear that gives the guitar great vintage character

The pickup covers have been replaced because the originals had excessive tarnish. Otherwise, the guitar remains in excellent playing condition.

There are no cracks, breaks, or structural issues. The neck is straight, the frets are in excellent condition with only minor wear, and the guitar has been professionally set up and plays cleanly up and down the neck with no buzzing or dead spots.
