If you searched this up, you probably know what this is. It was sold to me on Reverb as “tested working.” It does NOT work with Windows 11, so I could not thoroughly test it. It does power on. Selling as is.
This unit requires a Windows 7 era computer to function, and one of the PCI or PCIe cards from MOTU such as the 424 or 324. The connection looks like FireWire, but it is not. It takes a proprietary AudioWire cable, available on the MOTU website.
All that said, if you have an old school system, this thing is awesome. It has 24 ins and outs, of various formats. Check out the pics of the back of it. 8 ins and outs are analog. All gold connectors as pictured. One of the headphone plugs is busted, but it has two. It has some scratches on top, but they’ll be completely hidden once you rack it up. The front panel looks fine. Sound on Sound says they sound great. With a 424 card, you can run up to four of these, and mix and match them with their various other rack units of the era such as the 24io, for up to 96 inputs and outputs. If you have an older Windows 7 rig, there’s simply no cheaper way to get a gang of in outs. People have reported that they will work on early Windows 10 versions but it definitely won’t work on Windows 11. But if you have a Windows 7 rig, build your final recording rig with this. Selling it for less than I paid for it.
