Up for sale, a 1990 Fender STR-680 Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Part of the short-lived, upper-tier Pro-Feel series, this rare Superstrat model was expertly crafted at the Fujigen factory exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, featuring an SSH pickup configuration, Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo, contoured neck heel, poplar body with birdseye maple veneers on the top and back, and a gloss Blueberry Sunburst finish accented by gold hardware.
Weighing 9lbs 3oz, this guitar has a smooth, balanced sound that translates well through the SSH pickup complement. The stock ceramic magnet Hotrod-7S single coils in the neck and middle positions have oversized poles similar to a Duncan Quarter Pounder, offering plenty of sparkle and cut with more authority and punch than alnico magnets. The Dragster 8H humbucker in the bridge position is designed for higher gain with a thick, powerful sound ideal for white hot lead lines and crunchy chords. This STR-680 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Blueberry Sunburst finish has faded to a blackburst, with the rich blue/purple shade retained beneath the pickguard, highlighting the figuring in the birdseye maple. There’s some light pick wear across the guard and a few minor dings and finish scratches on the body. The gloss on the neck is clean and smooth with a few minor marks and a bit of wear on the bass-side shoulder in the first position.
A Fender-branded gigbag is included.
