Fender Japan STR-80 HSH EX-TREM E-Series Fujigen Cherry Red Sunburst MIJ 1984-1987
A rare and increasingly difficult-to-find Fender Japan STR-80 from the highly desirable E-Series Fujigen era, finished in stunning Cherry Red Sunburst with matching gold hardware and the original Fender EX-TREM locking tremolo system.
Built in Japan between 1984 and 1987 during Fender Japan's golden age of production, the STR-80 represents Fender's answer to the high-performance super-Strat market of the mid-1980s. Featuring an HSH pickup configuration, factory mini-toggle coil tap, locking nut, and Fender-branded EX-TREM tremolo, this model delivers everything that made these Fujigen-built instruments legendary among players and collectors alike.
The Cherry Red Sunburst finish is especially striking in person, paired with a black pickguard, gold hardware, rosewood fingerboard, and the classic E-Series Fender logo. It has all the visual appeal of the era while retaining the quality craftsmanship that made Fujigen one of the finest guitar factories in the world.
This guitar remains a fantastic player with a straight neck, healthy frets, functioning truss rod, and excellent playability. The electronics operate as intended, including the factory mini-toggle coil tap for expanded tonal options.
Condition is Very Good vintage condition. It shows honest playwear consistent with a guitar that has been enjoyed over the past four decades, including scratches, finish impressions, small dents, and hardware aging. A prior repair to the 6th-string tremolo anchor area is present and appears stable. The guitar plays well and remains structurally sound.
