Restored and re-calibrated a few years ago by a reputable tech who is passionate with his work.

I haven't tested every single potential routing options through the mixer but all seems well along with effects sends.Heahphone pot could probably use a little deoxit but other than that, the machine works quite well. There may be some small issues like a scractchy pot here or there but generally this machine works very well. There is a poster fader 8 out mod 1/4" in the back so you can isolate each tape track if transferring to digital.

When the tech was restoring this old machine, the plastic snapped on the top right corner which should be visible. He fixed it with epoxy and it's now merely a flesh wound.

Other than that, I'm happy to answer any questions. I love this machine but I have a 388 and several Portastudio 4 tracks so I think it may be time for the 488mkii to find a new home.

Also, update as of late June: the record button has sort of popped out. It's not fully out, but it's loose. I'll see what I can do but I can work with the price because of this.
