Carroll Blue is one of those finishes that has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. The depth of the curly maple figuring makes it notoriously difficult to photograph, as the appearance changes dramatically depending on the viewing angle and lighting. In some photos, the figuring can appear subtle, while in person the top comes alive with deep three-dimensional movement and chatoyance. Combined with the violin carve, bird inlays, nickel hardware, and updated Phase III locking tuners with Wing buttons, the result is unmistakably PRS. It's elegant, refined, and the kind of top that keeps drawing your eye back for another look.
