Greco EG800 T 1978 1970s High-End Models MIJ Japan vintage
【 About This item and Sound 】
Pure 1970s rock!
Heavy lows, powerful sustain, and the unmistakable punch of a great Les Paul.
This 1978 Greco EG-800 delivers the sound, feel, and attitude that made the era legendary.
Built in 1978, this EG-800 is based on the Les Paul models of the 1970s. It features a maple three-piece neck and a heavyweight pancake-style mahogany body. The serial number confirms its 1978 production date.
The sound is everything you would expect from a great rock guitar. Strong lows, a solid attack, and excellent note definition combine to recreate the most desirable qualities of a 1970s Les Paul. The maple neck and substantial body weight play a major role in shaping this character, while the open-coil pickups and ebony fingerboard add brightness, focus, and clarity.
The original PU-0 pickups are Maxon-made open-coil humbuckers with fully adjustable pole pieces. Although DiMarzio pickups became increasingly popular during this era, Greco stayed with a more traditional design, giving this guitar its own distinct identity.
These pickups deliver both power and clarity. Combined with the weight of the instrument, they produce rich sustain and a thick, authoritative voice that feels alive in your hands.
The heavily overdriven "Woman tone" is simply addictive. From classic rock to hard rock, this guitar covers virtually every rock sound with confidence and authority.
Plug it in, turn it up, and you'll understand why players still chase this sound nearly fifty years later.
