Akai Rhythm Wolf drum and bass machine sequencer. Very little sign of use. Comes with aftermarket power adapter.
The Rhythm Wolf combines a drum machine, bass synthesizer, and step sequencer into one rugged device with a 100% analog signal path. It’s a straightforward, hands-on groovebox built for hip-hop, techno, and electronic production — no menus, just knobs.
The drum section covers five voices: kick, snare, open and closed hi-hat, and metallic percussion, with per-voice tuning, amplitude envelopes, and volume controls. The kick features adjustable attack and decay for transients that hang, bang, or crush, while the snare and open hi-hat also have dedicated decay controls.
The bass synth features a selectable sawtooth or square wave oscillator, classic low-pass filter design, and a filter envelope with variable decay — capable of everything from smooth sub bass to squelchy acid lines. The global Howl knob adds analog overdrive/distortion across the entire signal path for extra grit.
A 32-step standalone sequencer and six MPC-style pads are onboard, with mute/solo, intro/fill, and A/B sequence switching for live performance control. Connectivity includes 5-pin MIDI In/Out, USB MIDI, and analog gate trigger I/O , plus separate outputs for drums and bass for precise mixing.
A fun, no-nonsense analog beat machine at a price point that’s hard to argue with.
