Atkin Essential 0012S 2025 w/ K&K

Wonderful sounding and playing Atkin! This is my 4th Atkin and they ar eall amazing. Only selling to fund a custom order from them.

There is some light pick wear evidence and a ding or 2 but with the distressed finish they blend in. It has a strap button, a K & K mini pick-up and a custom pick guard. A rich and warm voicing with a nice low end and midrange.

Essential OOs offers 100% Atkin tone stripped down to the bare essentials! This Essential OO sports a baked North American Sitka spruce top, braced with baked Red Spruce pre-war scalloped bracing. The Mahogany back and sides are complimented by a lightweight Mahogany neck with an Ebony fingerboard. The guitar has plenty of power when it’s called for but responds equally well to lighter touch. This instrument plays beautiful and rewards the slightest effort with a rich and complex voice all over the fingerboard.

It’s got that dry, woody punch that players love in a great vintage guitar. It responds beautifully whether flat picked or fingerpicked, with a balanced tone that’s full, clear, and alive. Atkin’s attention to detail shines through in every part of this build. The scalloped X-bracing gives the top room to breathe, letting it project with natural warmth and dynamic clarity. The mahogany neck has an easy, comfortable shape that feels broken in from the start the fingerboard that plays smooth and fast. Atkin’s shaded top that is aged nitrocellulose relic finish gives the Essential 0012S a worn-in aesthetic that’s full of character, and with tortoise binding, it is a well-aged classic. With a 1.75-inch nut and a 24.75" scale, plus nickel Gotoh tuners ensure stable tuning. It delivers both traditional power and modern playability. The guitar has also been fitted with an K & K mini pickup and a custom pickguard. The Essential 0012s is a handcrafted instrument that captures the heart of what acoustic tone should be.
