Serving as a bridge between the affordable SE models manufactured in Indonesia and the high-end PRS USA Core models, the S2 models have been closing the enormous price gap for several years with an attractive compromise. The PRS S2 McCarty 594 Singlecut from 2022 featured here is a modern take on the Les Paul, boasting a resonant mahogany body with a total weight of just 3.79kg, making it easy to handle even during long playing sessions. A richly figured flamed maple top provides bite and brilliance in the tone, while a set mahogany neck with a thicker vintage neck profile offers efficient tone transmission and excellent sustain.

Plugged in, the two PRS 58/15 “S” humbuckers provide an extremely versatile HH setup with the full range of sound options PRS is known for: whether it’s punchy, warm rhythm harmonies, singing, sustain-laden lead passages à la Carlos Santana, or crystal-clear clean tones—this guitar simply covers it all.
