Martin Custom Shop 18 Style 0000/M Gruhn's Guitar Special Spec, Premium Adirondack Spruce Top with Master Grade Sinker Mahogany Back and Sides. This guitar has never left the recording studio and is in MINT Condition. Records incredibly well, extremely balanced tone and one of the best guiatrs in my collection. The larger M/0000 body with Golden Era Scalloped Adirondack Forward Shifted Bracing offers a broad, balanced voice with more headroom than a traditional 000, while still retaining clarity and responsiveness for both Finger Style and Flat Picking. This old growth mahogany was cut between 1880 and early 1920's in Belize, a quality no longer available on trees cut today and the wood was hand selected by George Gruhn at the Martin Custom Shop, diamond inlays, Golden Era spec's & Original Geib style Hardshell Case.
The build leans into a traditional 18-style foundation with thoughtful upgrades, including forward-shifted, hand-shaped GE scalloped bracing and a gloss body with satin neck finish for a broken-in feel. The Modified V neck profile with High Performance taper provides a comfortable, slightly fuller grip, while premium tonewoods and clean appointments keep the focus on tone and playability.
