The Memphis Historic series reached its peak between 2016 and 2018 — the golden era when Gibson Memphis achieved the perfect alignment of vintage accuracy, build quality, and Memphis-specific construction techniques including hot hide glue, rolled neck binding, and tubeless historic truss rod. This represents the highest level of craftsmanship from the Memphis factory before its closure. In every meaningful way, this is the ES-335 equivalent of the True Historic.
