Selling this Roland VP-330 MK I vocoder/synth. This is the original metal-case version with the rocker switches, the classic, more sought-out-for version from the early 1980s. Later versions released after the MK 1 began to use more common and cheaper chips for the chorus/ensemble sound, but this version‘s circuitry and components are truly rare.

This could absolutely stand alone as a unique synth across its different sound modes. But in addition to that, the built-in XLR input allows you to plug a microphone right into the keyboard and begin running the iconic vocoder sound.

It was recently professionally serviced and sounds excellent — full recap of chorus board, replaced 3 chorus chips, all 4 socketed. Everything functions as it should. Keys, sliders, switches, and outputs are all working properly.

It’s spent the last 20+ years in a smoke-free studio environment and has not been moved around. In extremely good condition for its age. There are some minor scratches and normal signs of careful use, but overall it’s very clean and well-preserved.
