Hello! You are looking at a 1960s Hohner 48 Chord Model 267/387 Orchestral Harmonica & Case. According to the Guinness Book of Records, the HOHNER Chord 48 is the largest harmonica in the world! Used by several iconic harmonica groups, such as the Harmonicats, this is the ideal accompanying instrument for harmonica ensembles and orchestras. This harmonica features a double-hinged body. The upper half chords are major on blow and minor on draw, while the lower body chords are seventh on blow and either diminished or augmented on draw. There are 384 reeds in total. The Chord 48 is the only accompaniment harmonica where each chord is located on its own separate reed plate, permitting individual placement and greatly increasing ease of maintenance.
