Greco EGC-550 Les Paul Custom – Mint Collection Era – Ebony Board – c.1990

Up for sale is a beautiful Greco EGC-550 Les Paul Custom style guitar from the renowned Mint Collection era, manufactured in around 1990. This model was inspired by the classic Gibson Les Paul Custom design and features an ebony fingerboard, gold hardware, and excellent craftsmanship typical of late 80s / early 90s Greco guitars.

This guitar has no visible serial number, which is not uncommon for some Mint Collection-era Grecos. so the exact date was built is quite difficult to know, however based on specs, construction, and hardware, it is estimated to date from around 1990 and maybe built at fujigen factory, although there is not much information about this guitar, and there are made in korea guitars of the same model and same year also , so this also could be, so please make sure check the pictures, and even if you have any information ask or even if you want to add and help me figure out, I think might be Japanese made based on the overall construction, solidity (if that make sense), weight, and the original case (displayed in the mint collection catalog in the last picture in this post) ..but still a mystery for me at least, could not find definitive information anywhere.

Condition

The guitar is in very good vintage condition overall and plays great.

• Neck is straight
• Truss rod has room for adjustment in both directions
• Frets have approximately 80% remaining
• Original frets
• Weight: approx. 4.85 kg
• Ebony fingerboard
• All gold hardware, including screws, is present and looks clean

There are minor cosmetic signs of age such as small scratches and scuffs consistent with normal use. The back shows some wear around the belt-buckle area. Please check the photos carefully for details.

Overall, this is a very clean and solid example of Greco Les Paul Custom from the highly regarded Mint Collection period — a great player and collectible instrument.
