Vintage 1963 Vox AC30 2×12 Copper Top Blues Guitar Valve Amplifier Combo *1960s*
Well, if you're looking for an early VOX AC30 - this is the one. I purchased this from the original owner's family, who had lovingly looked after it over the years. The amplifier dates to mid 1963 (circa June 1963 from the serial number) and is the copper top from the 8000 serial range. It comes with the two original Celestion 'Blues', complete with the original H1777 cones in both. All three transformers work great and are original to the amplifier. There is a mixture of original and replacement EL84 valves, and a set of replacement pre-amp valves along with an original Mullard GZ34. The previous owner, for whatever reason, lacquered the front cloth except the speaker surround, hence the difference in the front cloth - though this is original. All three handles are replaced with later Vox style handles. This is definitely one heck of an amplifier, and a brilliant example at that! You’ll not be disappointed. The amplifier has recently been serviced by a UK leading amplifier tech and it plays great! Please check out the pictures below as these form part of the description.
