1940 Conn 2B New World Symphony Pro Trumpet, Awesome Player, ports aligned, GC++

1940 Conn 2B New World Symphony professional trumpet, extremely well playing example, the best 2B I have played! First year of the second generation of the Conn 2B line. A significant improvement is the first valve trigger which replaces the most uncomfortable first valve slide saddle I have ever tried to use!

Very tight, efficient, responsive solid instrument with a great, full, sonorous tone! It is happy at a whisper and gets better the harder you push it! Slotting is very good, intonation is excellent from pedal tones up through D above the staff, my upper range. Compression is excellent, valve action is quick and sure. Valves are all numbers matching originals and have very little wear. This horn’s performance is simply excellent in every respect. It is an incredible instrument to play and enjoy!

The horn was fully disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned. Valve ports are precisely aligned vertically with horn ports using premium Valentino corks and quiet pads. New valve springs are installed as well as water valve corks. All consumable items on this horn have been renewed; it is ready to play and immensely enjoy in every respect!

Cosmetically there are some challenges. There has been a lot of work done in straightening the bell and working out creases, and evidence remains visible. There are some remaining partial dents at the bell stem where it joins the valve block, as well as at the brace near the crook. Lacquer is gone over most of the horn, which has developed a pleasant brass patina. I usually chem strip and hand polish a horn like this (hours of effort!) but decided to leave this one as is to keep the price reasonable and because I like the appearance as it is.
