For sale or best offer is a vintage 1921 Martin Style-A Mandolin. This style mandolin was a hybrid of two designs. It has the A-style teardrop body shape, using more or less guitar box type construction, but with the bent or slanted top often seen on traditional bowl-back mandolins.
It has mahogany back and sides, topped with spruce, and has a warm, glowing tone, perhaps not as bright as what you'd hear in a fast-paced bluegrass band. It is in great shape, with nicks and dings here and there. Its center seam has been glued and sealed as well as few small side cracks that have been sealed. It feels great to play and sounds awesome.
It has been professionally setup and comes with a hardshell case.
