Straight out of the '90s, this Ibanez RT650 in Transparent Red brings the era-correct shredder vibe, but it’s a lot more versatile than a one-note guitar. The slim-taper neck and 12" radius make it fast and comfortable, while the HSH pickup set delivers a wide range of usable tones. With moderate resistance readings of 9K, 6K, and 15K from neck to bridge, it stays clean, warm, and articulate, and the bridge pickup has a full midrange without getting nasal or overcooked. It’s a great balance of clarity and punch, with more than enough push to hit your pedals the right way.
The bound 24-fret neck is nicely done, with a dark rosewood board that feels great under the fingers and sets up easily for low action. It has a modern 2-point floating tremolo, and while the bar is missing, any 5mm push-in style arm should do the job. Gotoh locking tuners round it out and make it a solid, player-friendly package. If you like the look of the era but want a guitar that can cover a lot more ground than metal and shred, this RT650 is a seriously cool find.
Very good condition guitar with some scratches on the top and a few edge chips on the back. Frets are in excellent shape, and the electronics are solid. Includes pro setup, setup checklist, and Ibanez gig bag.
