This is an impossibly rare dream spec Custom Shop Jazz Bass. Every major option has been intentionally chosen.
Built by the Fender Custom Shop as a Limited Edition 1964 Jazz Bass Heavy Relic in Aged Black, this bass combines an ash body, quartersawn maple neck, AAA round-lam rosewood board, white MOP block inlays, ships with Aguilar AG470 pickups but included are the hand-wound vintage pickups for an instrument that feels equally vintage, aggressive, elegant, and alive.
The lightweight ash body gives it exceptional resonance and snap, while the ’60 Jazz Bass “U” neck profile offers a substantial but incredibly comfortable feel that sits right in the sweet spot between vintage authority and modern playability. The dark-tinted nitro neck, binding, blocks, and heavy relic treatment give the instrument the look of a bass that has lived on stages for decades.
