Up for sale is a stunning and rare 1991 Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster, crafted in the USA for the Japanese market (distributed by Tahara). This is a highly resonant, lacquer-finished (Nitro) instrument with incredible character, perfect for both serious players and collectors.Unique Vintage Story (Japanese Newspaper Reflection):
This guitar features a truly unique mojo element – a subtle, authentic reflection of a Japanese newspaper imprinted into the nitrocellulose finish. This happened during long-term storage in Japan, leaving a fascinating, historical footprint on the body that highlights its unique provenance.Upgrades & Modifications (Optimized for performance):
The guitar has been upgraded for enhanced tonal versatility and modern reliability, but extra parts are safely included in the case:
- Pickups: Currently loaded with a Tonerider Hot Vintage pickup set. The original 1991 Fender USA pickups are included in the box (please note: original pickups are untested).
- Electronics: Upgraded with high-quality CTS pots and a custom 4-way switch modification (adds a thick, serial-connected humbucker-like tone in the 4th position). The original electronics assembly is included.
- Bridge: Upgraded to a rock-solid Gotoh bridge for superior intonation. The factory-installed bridge is not present, but the package includes a non-original Fender replacement bridge that is period-correct for early-90s specs.
- Setup: The guitar is currently set up for slide playing (higher action). However, thanks to the modern Gotoh bridge, re-adjusting it back to a low, standard action for regular playing is incredibly quick, smooth, and easy.
