Vintage 1964 Gibson ES-175D in stunning original sunburst finish!
This is a great player's ES-175
The finish on this amazing ES-175 is original throughout with no overspray, cracks, breaks or repairs. It has some very mild finish checking and minor signs of playwear. This 175 was made during the same year (1964) that saw some of the most legendary guitars leave Kalamazoo including the Clapton "Cream" Es-335 and George Harrison's SG Standard.
As pictured, the serial number reads: 284467 which dates this to mid 1964
This 175 has the "wide" or full nut width of 1 and 11/16th inches. It is feather-weight is as you'd expect from the old growth maple and mahogany of this era - SUPER Light and very resonant.
The parts on this guitar are reproduction, but of the finest quality. The pickups are an excellent sounding set of matched Seymour Duncan Seth Lover PAFs . The pots are new premium CTS 550k, Switchcraft jack and switch and Sprague .022mfd tone caps. The best of the best.
This example had a very professional replacement fingerboard installed years ago. A stunning rosewood board with no inlay markers. The fretwork is stellar. The action on this guitar is perfect and it plays phenomenally with pitch perfect intonation. Incredibly clean from top to bottom!
This is a great chance to get into a golden-era 175 from what is the most desirable production year in this model's long and storied history: 1964. The woods are the premium OLD Gibson tone woods - the good stuff which will never return to modern electric guitar production. Priced at far below 50% of an all original example, this is a great vintage value!
