I have personally consulted with a Transparent Audio representative to verify the specifications and heritage of these cables.They are authentic Reference series interconnects with the unique serial number mm2809. They are part of the elite "XL" line, which represented a significant step up from the standard Reference tier. To put their status in perspective, this pair carried a brand-new MSRP of $8,500 in 2005, reflecting the extreme level of engineering and materials used in their construction. 

Specialized "SS" (Solid State) Calibration:
