This is a great example of how a classic vintage U87 should sound. If you are searching for one of these you probably already know the difference between one of these mics and what Neumann currently produces under the U87 name.
This mic was serviced by Sennheiser/Neumann in the states in 2007 and was very lightly used in a private studio since then. The servicing included cleaning of the original capsule. Neumann has recently determined that this particular microphone was manufactured in 1974.
The mic sounds excellent and performs exactly as expected, ready for more decades of great recordings. Please judge the cosmetic condition for yourself by the photos and don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions.
